Heather Ashley Chase always knew that she wanted to be a little movie starlet. Born in the year of the Piggy she was educated and disciplined at an infamous private all girls school known simply to NYC insiders as ‘Spence’. It was at the age of 4 that she thought she was the best little jazz and tap dancer in Ms Strally’s dance class. Ms Strally thought otherwise.
From a young age, Heather was striking a pose in tutu’s and tiara’s while singing into microphones (the nearest hairbrush). She would sing (screech) at the top of her lungs, songs from Xanadu, Grease and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
Heather was always saying that she would be the next Sandra Dee, and when she grew up, that she’d marry her big crush, John Travolta.
Heather always said that she would be on the cover of her favorite glossy magazine’s Sassy and Vogue someday, too. Well, maybe not Vogue, but she did make the inside editorials of Sassy Magazine and she also made the cover of Palm Beach Illustrated in 2000, the cover of Boca Magazine 2008 and the cover of several overseas fitness magazines.
In 2000 Heather started her television career off with a Bang. Literally.
She was cast as the female bounty hunter and decoy in the hit TV show “Task Force”. After shooting season one, Heather flew to Hollywood.
The day Heather landed she drove towards NBC Studios in Burbank. Curious about the long line in front of the studios, She waited in that line to see a live taping of the Tonight Show, to where she was picked out of the crowd to come down onto stage and play a prank on Kevin Eubanks. She was asked to return the next day, to be part of a warm up act bit, before the show. Her luck had just begun.
It was apparent that Hollywood loved Heather, for later that week, she was cast as the lead role for a horror film, and a supporting role for a sci-film, her first of over twenty-five.
With her growing success in the Sci-Fi circuit, She was then asked to strike a pose for Femme Fatal Magazine’s July 2002 Issue as that months ‘Belle DuJour’.
Heather was soon once again dipping her toes into the smaller screen when one August day, Day’s of Our Lives came knocking on her door.
Coming full circle, she soon was discovered for a music video while shopping after her daily hikes at Runyon Canyon. The director found her tapping, dancing and shaking her rump in the isles at Trader Joe’s (doesn’t everyone?).
Heather accepted his business card, and agreed to start dancing again and audition for the part. Her dancing skills had obviously improved because later that week, Heather was being cast in the Brittney Spears pop video ‘Do Something’.
Take that Ms Strally.
