Yummy Protein

Always being on a movies set or a TV set, I am always aware of how fit, tone and healthy my skin looks. So- As the holidays arrive, these are the little things I make to keep from eating everything ‘bad’ and ‘unhealthy’ in sight. (Trust me, refraining from Pumpkin ANYTHING is the biggest challenge. ) I always dread this time of year. Maybe it’s because I’m not into all the hoop and hollar of a ‘Food’ holiday. (Because let’s be honest, this Thanksgiving Holiday has become just ‘that’. i’d rather give thanks in my own way….EVERYDAY…in my own way, for being in this beautiful Country.

I always try to Avoid the white flour, bread, salt, prepackaged, processed food and of course, yummy chocolate chip cookies. It’s hard to do around this Holiday time, because of all the social events were all drawn into.

However, you can still feel like you’re having all the yummy treats, by making these recipes up ahead of time. Bring them with you, stuff them in your purse, and when the time comes to wander, and mingle with an appetizer plate, whip out your bag of goodies and fill your own plate with these healthy treats instead.
Don’t give into the pressure and the guilt of family and friends telling you ‘Oh C’mon- Just ONE, just ONE wont wont hurt you!’ or ‘Live a little, you only live once’. (I hate that one, because what they are saying is actually TRUE, and YES, you should try to be as healthy as possible because you DO only live once, and have one life. You need to make this one count!.)
Just say No. if they get nasty, simply smile and say “I care about my waistline and my health and it’s just not worth it’. If you’re not into the ‘brutal Janice Dickinson honesty approach’ like I am- you can do what I USED do. Just Take the damn pile of sugar and sodium infested lard of junk and walk around and pretend I’m eating it, while shoving it into the garbage disposal, nearest plant on the patio (where all my holiday ‘just have ONE glass Heather c’mon! ‘ alcoholic drinks ended up) or down the nearest garbage outlet. (And don’t get on me about wasting food and the children of the world starving, blah blah blah, because They forced me to take it, so I’m chucking it away.) That’s that.

Everyone now knows that processed and fast foods are not the bastions of nutrition, but that shouldn’t make these ingredients found inside them any less revolting. This list sends a clear message: when a packaged food contains more than five ingredients and includes some that are difficult to pronounce, stay away. Make a b-line straight to the organics aisle.

Look at the cute Beaver above! Is he not so adorable?? Now ask yourself…..Do you want to eat his buttocks?

Beaver Anal Glands in Raspberry Candy

The anal glands of a beaver, conveniently euphemized as castoreum, are a common ingredient in perfumes and colognes but are also sometimes used to — believe it or not — enhance the flavor of raspberry candies and sweets.

Beetle Juice Beetle Juice Beetle Juice……

Beetle Juice in Sprinkles and Candies

You know that shiny coating on candies like Skittles? Or the sprinkles on cupcakes and ice cream sundaes? Well, they get that glaze from the secretions of the female lac beetle. The substance is also known as shellac and commonly used as a wood varnish.

Sand in Wendy’s Chili

Sand is hidden in Wendy’s chili as a name you might remember from high school chemistry class: silicon dioxide. Apparently they use sand as an “anti-caking agent,” perhaps to make sure the chili can last for days and days over a heater. Bah.

Yes, it pisses me off when I see people trying to push their bad habits onto myself and others.
They have no right to ‘guilt’ someone into that third heaping pile of turkey because ‘Oh, but it’s thanksgiving!’. Who Cares.
Celebrate life by not stuffing your face and being healthy,
because a weeks worth of working out, eating clean, hard running, can go down the drain with ONE slice of pie, a scoop of HagganDiaz, those creamy looking mashed potatoes that have too much sodium and butter in them, that great smelling out of the box stuffing. You work out so hard, and it’s not worth it for a moments pleasure. So-to keep your eating clean and healthy, these are some great recipes for low carb, high protein great tasting treats. It will feel like your cheating on your meal plan, but you won’t be. And screw Aunt Irene who makes you take that third piece of Apple Pie. Duct tape it to HER hips and I bet she’ll never pressure you again.
